How do I use events?

An event takes place at a date and time, for a given duration, and involves a Personnel and/or a Location.

Events are used for meal breaks, meetings, leave, etc. They play an important role by blocking off time in the Calendar for Personnel and Locations.

By creating an event for a specific Personnel will prevent that person from being booked into an apointment during that period.  Likewise the use of a room (Location) can also be blocked off.

To create an Event...

  1. Open one of the Calendar views (e.g. Calendar > Weekly view).
  2. Choose either the Personnel or Location tab, and select the desired person/location from the drop down list.
  3. Locate an available timeslot, click and select New Event from the pop-up menu.
  4. Choose and Event Type.
  5. (optional) If more detail is needed, add a Description for the event.
  6. Select personnel and/or location using the drop-down lists.
  7. Check the Date and the From time.
  8. Enter the To time or the Duration (in minutes).
  9. (optional) Click the Notes tab and add any notes if needed.
  10. Recheck all the values on the form and then click the [Save] button.

Events can be created for Personnel or Locations (or both).  You can also create Recurring Events by filling in the details on the Recurring tab.
