How do I use the Search feature?

Every type of information stored in BizDiary can be searched.  In particular it is very useful to search for Appointments and Customers.  As an added bonus Search results can also be exported for further use.

The search feature is accessed from the menu.  For example Appointments > Search Appointments or Customers > Search Customers.

The search form will include all the different fields that are available for that type of record, and initially all fields are blank.  If you hit the [Search] button at this point, then all records would be returned.

To find specific records you enter values or select them in the available lists. 

For lists you can select multiple options by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking each one.

You can also use wildcards, and you can search for fields that don't have a value (useful for tracking down records that may be missing important data).

When you have entered/selected values, and then press [Search] the system will find the records that match ALL of the criteria.

You can use the page tabs to look at all the results returned, and you can also use the Export button to export the data (Managers and Admins only).  You can also use the search results to do a bulk delete, and with customers to do a Bulk SMS.
