How do I create a new appointment on the wait-list?

If a customer would like a specific appointment time that is not available you can put them on the wait-list.  This is done by creating an appointment anywhere around the date/time that they would like and then marking it in the wait-list as reschedule.

Example

Anne calls to make an appointment.  She would like something on Thursday afternoon, preferably around 3pm, but currently Thursday is fully booked.  She asks to go on the wait-list.

  1. Go to the Appointments > New Appointment, and select the customer (Anne).
  2. Select the date (e.g. for Thursday), and enter any a time close the the customers prefered time (e.g. 3pm).
  3. Enter the other required fields just like creating a normal appointment.
  4. Click on the Wait-list tab.
  5. Select Reschedule from the Wait-list drop-down.
  6. (optional) If you want to keep track of when Anne went onto the Wait-list you can choose a date in Wait-list since.
  7. In the Wait-list notes enter the information about the new desired time.
In this case we would put something like "Thursday afternoon, prefers 3pm".
  8. Click on [Save].
(Note: When you save you will be reminded that this appointment will not be visible in the Calendar).

Important:

Because the Reschedule option is used, the appointment does not show up in the Calendar, and does not clash with other appointments booked into that time.
