How do I restrict a user?

There are two levels of controlling permissions in BizDiary.  You can set what general level of access a user has - Admin, Manager, User, Read-only User, and you can also control access to specific features on a per-user basis.

User Level

When you create a new User, or edit an existing one, you can set the Level of the user.

A Readonly User can...

  • Access the calendar.
  • Edit their own user record.
  • Access their own My Notes page.
  • Turn Show Hints on and off.

A general User can...

  • Access the calendar.
  • Create, modify and delete appointments, events, and tasks.
  • Create, modify and delete customers.
  • Edit their own user record.
  • Access their own My Notes page.
  • Turn Show Hints on and off.

A Manager user has all the access of a general user, and can also...

  • Create new users.
  • Edit other users whose level is user or customer.
  • View the session log report.
  • View the invoice report.

An Administrator user has full access to the system.  The administrator sets up Services, Locations, Personnel and Users, as well as Settings.

User-specific Permissions

Each user can have additional permissions, which are assigned by an Administrator-level user...

  • Send SMS
  • Send Email
  • Send Bulk SMS
  • Send Mailout
  • Buy SMS credits
  • Export
  • Reports

These are set on the Permissions tab of the user.
